On May 21st, a gorgeous sun-kissed Saturday afternoon, Stanice celebrated 26 years clean, sober and free from the bondage of active addiction at Martin’s Restaurant and Lounge in Washington, DC. The event was highlighted by Stanice’s sharing from her new book, Walking On Water When the Ground Ain’t Enuf, singing and humorous storytelling. Friends, family and new readers showed up as Stanice signed books and the CD soundtrack inspired by the book which drifted from the sound system during mix and mingle portion of the event. Attendees enjoyed a non-alcoholic beverage menu of “mocktails” which included the “KCB-Keep Coming Back” and the “Shout Glory.” Attendees were also treated to delicious food, warm fellowship and body-swinging hand-dancing. Good fun for the soul combined with her signature Food for The Spirit.
